The device itself would be nothing without the companion iPhone app that tells you everything about your sleep patterns and helps you make sense of that and get better nights. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"> The device looks like an orb with a flat base. It sits on your nightstand monitoring the conditions in your bedroom and disturbances at night. It works together with the so-called Sleep Pill, a small but sensitive sleep tracking sensor clips to your pillow, and it also needs a nice iPhone app. Sense has a built-in speaker that can play white noise or calming rain to help you sleep better. The speaker is also used to play the Sense's Smart Alarm if it is programmed to wake you up before the time you set it to sense you are moving around. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"> The Sleep Pill is designed to track your movement. You can clip it to your pillow or wear it on your clothes. The device has a 6-axis accelerometer and gyroscope hidden inside it, so it can detect any movement. The information is sent via Bluetooth Low Energy to your iPhone. One of the best things about it is that the Seep Pill has a battery that lasts for an entire year and it is fully waterproof, so you can wash it with your clothes or pillow covers. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"> Every morning you get a Sleep Score up to 100 and full information on what interfered with your sleep from outside noises, light, your partner's snoring or your own movements. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"> The Smart Alarm is just like a regular alarm when you set it, but it won't wake you up at the exact moment you choose, but rather when the device senses you are about to wake up. For example, if you set it up for 9:30 AM, but you are moving in your bed at around 9:15 AM, Sense will go sooner, before you fall deeper into sleep so then it has to force awake you. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"> Sense has an Ambient Light Sensor, Temperature and Humidity Sensors, Particles Sensor (to spot dust floating into air and possible other allergy causing factors). It also has WiFi, Bluetooth, ANT modules built in, along with a speaker, a microphone, colored LEDs and a Proximity Sensor. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"> It comes in black and white, and you can still pre-order it on Kickstarter for as low as $99 (€73.7). Shipping will start in November 2014, because this project went over $760,000 (€565,831), although the initial goal was only $100,000 (€74,453).</div> </div>

Lunecase Is A Magical iPhone Case That Displays Alerts Without Using Any Additional Power

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> <img src="http://netdna.coolthings.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/lunecase-2.jpg" /><br /> <br /> <div style="background-color: white; color: #393a3a; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 16px;"> The Lunecase is just like any of the thousand or so iPhone cases in the market, wrapping over your phone's naked frame and serving as a second skin. Except it also comes with a built-in notification system that lights up every time you receive a call or text without hooking up to any power source.</div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #393a3a; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 16px;"> Made by Concepter, the case doesn't have an onboard battery to power its LEDs, nor does it hook up to your iPhone to piggyback off its power. Instead, it harnesses the small amounts of electromagnetic energy the iPhone emits and uses that to power the onboard LEDs, essentially putting erstwhile wasted energy to use.</div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #393a3a; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 16px;"> Described as the "first intelligent iPhone cover," the Lunecase can recognize every instance a call or text is received even without hooking up to any part of the iPhone, then lights up the corresponding alert (a text bubble graphic for an SMS, a phone icon for a call). We're not sure how it accomplishes that, but we would never rule out some form of magical sorcery fueled by magic from the remains of a giant superhuman. Seriously, it just snaps onto the phone like any regular case -- no plugs, no wires, and no wireless Bluetooth connection whatsoever, yet it knows when someone is calling and texting. Creepy.</div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #393a3a; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 16px;"> By the way, it can only perform that wizardry on phones that operate on GSM networks, so your poor friends on CDMA carriers (read: Verizon and Sprint) won't be able to enjoy its magnificent wonders. Of course, it also works like any regular case, protecting your handset from nicks and scratches with its rubber-coated plastic construction.</div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #393a3a; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 16px;"> A Kickstarter campaign is running to raise funds for the <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/concepter/lunecase-bring-the-back-of-your-iphone-to-life" style="border: none; color: #393a3a; outline: none;">Lunecase</a>. Next-Gen iPhone 6 Display Tested Against Sandpaper And Crossbow Arrow

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="http://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news-700/Next-Gen-iPhone-Display-Tested-Against-Sandpaper-And-Crossbow-Arrow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="350" src="http://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news-700/Next-Gen-iPhone-Display-Tested-Against-Sandpaper-And-Crossbow-Arrow.jpg" width="640" /></a></div> <br /> <strong style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">A new video by youtuber Marques Brownlee shows how durable is the new iPhone 6 display. No surprises here: a crossbow arrow will destroy it no matter what.</strong><br /> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> The guy that impressed everyone by getting his hands on the iPhone 6 display and bending it a lot, has some new, more in depth tests for the same screen. This time he explains how he realized that the display panel may actually not be made of sapphire glass, but a composite material that has some percentage of sapphire in it. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> He starts off by explaining the metal in his knife and keys is not relevant to a supposedly sapphire or even to Corning Gorilla Glass because they are less hard on the Mohs Scale (mineral hardness scale). According to this scale, the knife blade has a hardness of 5.5, the iPhone 5s display is at around 6.8 and the pure sapphire goes up to 9.0.</div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> Scratching your iPhone 5s with hard sandpaper does scratch the screen pretty bad, but it won't leave a mark on the Touch ID Home button that we know it is made out of sapphire glass. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> However, the same sandpaper left scratch marks on the supposedly sapphire display. Maybe that's because the screen itself is not made out of sapphire, says Brownlee. He believes that the new display is actually a composite that is harder than the Corning's Gorilla Glass display. Marques makes the makes for a non-sapphire display being the correct choice, because a full sapphire panel is not that bendable and it is much more expensive. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> It appears that Apple has already patented a way to laminate with sapphire. "Once the two sheets are joined together to form the sapphire laminate, the exposed surfaces of the sapphire laminate may be lapped and polished. Both exposed surfaces of the sapphire laminate may be lapped and polished simultaneously. That is, the sapphire laminate may be immersed in an abrasive and/or polishing slurry with a polishing pad on each side. The sapphire structure may also be mechanically modified to help reduce the likelihood of chipping or fracturing. For example, the edges may be beveled or chamfered. Further, the sapphire structure may be treated with oleophobic coating and/or printed with ink", explains the Patent filling from March of 2013. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> The last part of his video shows how the display can be destroyed using a crossbow arrow this time. No surprise here. We already know that just by going over it with a car will shatter the glass. </div> </div>

If you find the best one, that is. And so far, all of them have little annoying details that will bother you. These new ones seem to solve some of those problems. Will you fund them?</strong></div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> The first one we take a look at today is "Smario Car Kit", dubbed "The Most Integrated Car Kit Solution". It is an all in one solution for a phone mount, car charger and a bluetooth device. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> Smario was designed for any mobile phone so your iPhone will love it. There are four different colors and the device itself will only be 3.1 by 2.9 inches (80mm by 74mm). </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> The Kickstarter project developer says Smario has Bluetooth 4.0 Quality Audio. You can use that to stream music to the car speakers, control volume, select songs as well as access Siri and use dictation. The device is designed in such a way that it holds your iPhone with or without a case. It has spring loaded clamps to hold it in place. The Smario comes with a lightning connector, a 30-pin and a MicroUSB. They are all inside the device so you can just rotate it and get to the one that works for you. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> One of the nifty things about it is that you can actually mount it inside the CD or Cassette Slot in your car. Just insert the back piece and the rotate the knob to secure it in place. Smario will cost $35 if the Kickstarter project will be funded. It only has nine days to go and the $100,000 goal is not that easy to reach. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> The second device we're going to present is the iMagBond - an anodized aluminum magnet mounts that looks awesome and can be used both in the car and in your home. You can either use this with your car vent or attach it to a good looking sturdy base. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> You can use it to hold your iPhone as you drive so you can talk on the phone, have a dashboard video camera or a GPS. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> The basic kit is $19 (€14), but you can only get it if the project will be funded on Kickstarter. There are only nine days to go and the developer needs an extra $6000 to get it off the ground. </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;">  </div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify;"> Check out the videos below and make sure to visit the Kickstarter pages to find out more and support these projects if you believe in them. </div> <br /></div>
