Brimir is a Ruby on Rails application that features an innovative concept for issues and bug tracking. The app is designed around emails and a clean management dashboard, letting clients and customers email their problems to the service providers and support staff.
Brimir takes each of these emails and converts them into a ticket, showing it as an unique thread in the administration panel.
Admins or the support staff can then reply to this thread with their own questions or solutions, and this response is automatically taken by Brimir and sent out as an email to the client.
Clients can have lengthy conversations via email, while the support staff can keep things organized in the Brimir dashboard so things don't get too confusing.
If a client wants to see their older tickets or has opened multiple tickets, they can also register with Brimir using their email address and have access to their account's history.
The concept behind Brimir is unique, but don't try to implement it when you have more than one person running the support staff or a very large userbase.
The Brimir code has been open sourced and is available via GitHub for everyone interested. You can play with an online demoinstallation as well. Default login credentials are user: agent@getbrimir.com and password: testtest.
